Beware of renting anything here! The pluses for the campground are that they have a nice in ground pool,a playground and duck ponds but we learned that both the paddle boat rental and the bike rental were thru private parties and not the campground. I paid for a paddle boat rental and the girl at the desk told me there were two- one that leaked and one that was available for use. When we arrived at the beach there was only one paddle boat and no one knew if that was the one that worked! When we went back to the desk we were informed that the campground didn't own the boats, sometimes the boats got stolen and that also she would page the owner to come help us. No help arrived and we instead asked for a refund. We decided to rent a 4 wheeled bike instead and we were directed to a weedy campsite with bikes. My husband rented a bike and in the process during his ride got an 8 inch gash on his leg from a protruding screw from these less than well maintained bikes. Many were held together with duct tape. We stayed here for the dog show and we were kind of upset that we had to stay in the Rally section, which had no shade, even though we had a tent. The sites were very poorly marked. Actually, the sites had no numbers and the map is very confusing. We stayed in what we thought was our site and we were next to a very large dumpster with no lid that was full of trash. Also, we had electric but did not have the right adapter so our plugs did not fit into their outlets. There are no showers or bathrooms in the Rally section. The bathroom that I was able to find had only 1 shower. It was hot and powerful though.

Not many shaded sites.Trees that are on the property are small to medium sized. Poorly kept sites by many "permanent" campers. Nice pool but weedy garden in pool area not kept up. Fire pit is just a hole in the ground with a metal grate. Planes, trains and automobiles go by constantly- you can hear the highway and the train tracks are right next to the campground. The reservoir is a pretty overlook but for only a few of the tent sites. Nice hill next to tent sites provides an overlook of the water. Many ugly vacant old campers just lying together apparently for sale next to playground. Only the last shower is one that will stay on and provide hot water. The other showers were timed push buttons and were lukewarm. Campground is located right next to a water slide park.

Wonderful place. Shaded, treed sites. Most were good size. Our area had a huge lawn off the restroom so kids could play games, frisbee, etc. Many of the sites in our area had huge boulders on them- just a quirk of note. Many people had dogs- very dog friendly. Great trails and lookout towers. Nice playgrounds and swimming beach. Tons of picnic areas. Our dog loved the special dog beach. It is a long walk from the campsites to the beaches though. Laundry was conveniently located in same bldg. as the restrooms and there was a sink where I could wash dishes.

First the good part- nice playground and pool. It was a few days before Memorial Day weekend and we saw the workers sprucing up the grounds preparing for the summer season, laying mulch etc. Nice reasonably priced camp store. Nice walk to the river. We had our choice of tent sites since it was early in the season and had a nice site by the stream. If there had been other tent campers there we would not have been happy- not really private and no large trees and other tents sites were very close together. Security, most notably the car gate, was awful. We got there on a Friday afternoon and could not get in. Their intercom, to I guess the owner's house, was not working and the gate was down. The same thing happened Sat. evening at 10:30. No repair to intercom. Had to walk in the rain to the owner's house so they could lift the electric gate. Saw other people had the same problem the next morning- they were stuck at the gate and could not get in. Also, showers were cold. Many permanent campers take up the motorhome sites. Video game room was decent. Quirk of note: At sundown you can watch all the bats come out of the store belfry. It is located in a quiet semi residential area. Our site backed to farmland and cows. Campground was dog friendly.

We had a nice private large wooded site next to the recreation room. The recreation room had a nice pool table and games and magazines. The lake is very nice with a clean beach. Beautiful lounge with campground store. We liked the mature trees and the fact that there were no sites behind ours- it backed to woods. Dog friendly.
